My name is Patrick Evans, I am a DJ and Producer, and founder of Reinstate Records. Over the years I’ve released music on respected labels including Paul Oakenfold’s Perfecto Black, Lost Language, e=mc2, Elpida Music, Melodic Beats Recordings and more.

I recently graduated with a 1st Class BA Hons Electronic Music Production degree at dBs in Plymouth. Here are some reviews I am really enjoying this month which help to bring light to talented artists that deserve to be heard!

10/10 – Top Release –

Factor B – You’ll Miss Me When I’m Gone [Theatre of the Mind]

From its opening moments, You’ll Miss Me When I’m Gone establishes a sense of sincerity that feels
deliberate. The track unfolds patiently, allowing atmosphere and detail to take precedence over
immediate impact. Each sound appears carefully considered, contributing to an overall mood that
feels reflective rather than dramatic.

What makes this release particularly effective is its lasting impression. There’s a quiet confidence in
the way the track carries itself, avoiding excess while remaining deeply expressive.

Factor B’s craftsmanship is on full display here, delivering something genuine, understated, and
deeply moving.

10/10 – Recommended –

Maarten de Jong – Super Ding [Armada Captivating]

Maarten de Jong is an artist whose work I’ve followed closely for many years, and Super Ding stands out as a release that demonstrates a clear sense of purpose from the outset. The track establishes its identity early on, yet resists the temptation to reveal everything immediately, allowing its energy and character to develop with control.

The production carries a strong uplifting quality, underpinned by a bassline that is both gritty and driving without becoming overpowering.

From an arrangement perspective, the strength of Super Ding lies in how cohesively its elements interact. Melodic layers and textural details are carefully placed, creating space within the mix. This ones a pleasure to hear it!

9/10 – K90 – Chemical Love (Craig Jones Remix) [Armada Captivating]

Craig Jones’s remix of “Chemical Love” makes its intention clear from the outset, delivering uplifting
energy with confidence. While the original’s 2002 identity is clearly respected, this version avoids
nostalgia for its own sake instead presenting a refined and contemporary interpretation that feels fully
grounded in modern production standards.

What stands out most is the overall balance throughout the remix. Jones preserves the emotional
core of the original while reinforcing it with added weight and clarity, ensuring it translates effectively
on current sound systems. The remix deepens the arrangement, giving the track renewed presence
without compromising its character.

The spatial design of the track is particularly effective. As the pads rise, the mix opens up, creating
scale and immersion, before tightening again as the energy returns. I highly recommend it!

9/10 – Asteroid & Pharos T – Time & Space [FSOE]

FSOE handed over a gem with Time & Space by Asteroid & Pharos T. The intro is gentle, gradually building its groove. This one is all about mood, letting atmosphere take the lead over big hooks.this track elevates the vibe.

There’s something about Asteroids Productions, I can hear the emotion in most of his tracks and you can hear the hard work that goes into them. They all tell stories and this collaboration with Pharos T only demonstrates that. This track is emotionally powerful.

8/10 – Javah, Stacey Jay, and Will Room [Ablazing Records]

Sea of Dreams has you hooked from the start Stacey Jay’s ethereal vocals bring warmth and sincerity to the track blending emotional depth with dance energy which only adds to the mood. It’s subtle, but effective taking you into the depths of the track and the story told.

There’s an easy calm that runs through and the breakbeat kick and the breakdown pairs up nicely with the melodic feel. The dramatic drop takes the track to another dimension and will have you falling into a world of emotional uplift.

Nothing feels forced with “Sea of Dreams”, everything sits perfectly in place, and the steady euphoric vibe captures you from start to finish.

Listening back to the production you can tell Will Room and Javah care about quality rather than quantity with this one!

Ablazing Records have a way with this kind of melodic sound, and this track fits them perfectly. It’s got its own character without blending into the background.

9/10 – Nick The Kid & The Beats Laboratory – Bring The Beat Back [HTE Recordings]

Nick The Kid and Beats Laboratory have put together something special with this one. I’ve known Nick since 2008 when I went to visit his events brand “Hindsight” in Exeter. It has been a pleasure watching him grow not only as an artist but from a guy who really knows his productions hearing him and Beats Laboratory team up on this one just feels right. Bring The Beat Back has that trademark confidence, no fuss, no over-the-top drama, just straight to the point and packed with energy.

The title really sums it up: it’s made for the dancefloor, upbeat and full of life. What I love most is the no-nonsense approach, no endless breakdowns or cheesy moments, just a track that keeps moving. The mix is tight, and when that breakdown melody hits with the kick and bass, I was sold instantly. I had to grab it right away.

HTE Recordings always seem to nail it when I’m looking for something with a bit more bite. I’ll be
watching what Nick and the crew do next.

8/10 – Simplex D.S.N – Skywalker (Adam Schofield Remix) [Joyride Recordings]

This remix really taps into that old-school trance feeling, but Adam Schofield puts his own stamp on this 2004 classic. The energy sits in that sweet spot between euphoric and driving, definitely has his signature all over it.

I’ve known Adam for a while, so I know how much care goes into his music. You can tell he’s enjoying himself here, putting his own spin on this classic. That personality comes through; it’s not just about the melody, it’s about how he shapes the whole remix, giving it both some punch and a healthy dose of nostalgia.

Joyride Recordings has always been good at blending the old and the new, and this fits right in. It’s not just a straight-up remake; Adam pushes it into tougher territory but keeps the vibe of the original alive. The energy sneaks up on you, and pretty soon you’re completely hooked. Take a listen and add it to your Trance collection.
