FESTIVAL PREVIEW: Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas
[dropcap]O[/dropcap]nce again, festival season is upon us! Topping this year’s list of can’t miss events is none other than EDC Las Vegas. The Insomniac Events team is back at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the carnival’s twenty-first year, announcing what is arguably one of the biggest lineups to date. Filling the performance ranks for this year’s fest are some of EDM’s most well-known names, including Afrojack, Armin Van Buuren, Hardwell, Martin Garrix, Above & Beyond, Alison Wonderland, Ghastly, and the legend himself – Paul Oakenfold.
This year, Pasqual Rotella – CEO and founder of Insomniac, decided to announce EDCLV’s mega lineup in a unique way. Instead of simply posting the full lineup to their respective website and social media pages, the trendsetting troupe employed an ingenious campaign – an interactive game of sorts where Rotella played clips of artists’ tracks while fans were tasked with identifying each blurb in order to piece together the completed bill.
In terms of creativity, there seems to be no end in sight for the Insomniac Events team. These folks deliver, with great pride and flawless consistency, year after year. In terms of brand awareness, their reputation precedes them; having produced some of the most successful events and festivals ever in the U.S., it’s no surprise the brand has come to be considered the standard by which all other production companies should attempt to emulate. Insomniac has pioneered many of the game-changing concepts and ideas are now seen at festivals all over the world; some of the most notable would include extended payment plans for ticket purchases, Glamping, and the incorporation of prominent stage aesthetics and themed live music events.
In keeping with tradition, there will be multiple stages featuring live performances by the industry’s biggest and brightest. Each stage features a different aesthetic and genre/sub-genre; there’s Kinetic Field, which is the largest and is the highlight of this landmark event.
In addition to the aforementioned stage we have Cosmic Meadow, Circuit Grounds, Neon Garden, Bass Pod, Wasteland, Quantum Valley, Upside-down House, and lastly, but certainly not least – Art Cars. Add to this a smorgasbord of vendors, eclectic fashionistas, flow artists, live art installations, aerial performers, world-class aesthetics and stage design…oh, and let’s not forget the seemingly non-stop barrage of professional-grade firework displays.
Another amazing venture recently undertaken by the Insomniac team is the brand’s charity and community outreach appropriately named Insomniac Cares. Established in 2011, Insomniac Cares has raised millions for a number of causes, focusing heavily on issues such as environmental protections & sustainability, the arts, education, and health & wellness.
In the past, IC has partnered with high-profile organizations such as the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Culture Shock Las Vegas, American Red Cross, and A Place Called Home, along with others. Since the charity’s inception, one dollar from every ticket sale and ten dollars from every guest list attendee are donated to one of the associated organizations.
The culmination of all of these efforts proves that Insomniac Events continually strives to do more than simply “put on a show.” From their unwavering dedication to excellence in production to their steadfast belief in people over profit, it’s clear to see why Insomniac has experienced continual success for well over two decades.
