Michael Theanne, Manager of Steve Aoki, dies aged 45

Michael went on to manage Steve Aoki, Deorro, Joachim Garraud and other EDM acts

Again, sad news came upon the world of electronic music. Michael Theanne, manager of Steve AokiDeorroand Cheat Codes passed away past Saturday on February 29th.

He collapsed after returning home from a hike with his dogs close to his home in Los Angeles. A coroner’s report is pending. He is survived by his wife Elena and baby daughter Luna.

In 2008 Michael went on to start his own music management company, Seminal Music. He picked up the unknown Steve Aoki as one of his first clients. Michael played a major part in transforming Aoki into the international superstar he is now. He also used to manage the legend Joachim Garraud.

On Sunday, Deorro wrote on Instagram: “For nearly a decade this man made the biggest difference in my life. Thank you for everything, thank you for being my manager, my brother, thank you for believing in me and everything we wanted to do.”

“We had so much fun and nothing can be stronger than building a success together,” said Garraud in a tribute posted on his Instagram.

In 2016, Theanne received a Grammy nomination for his work on Steve Aoki’s documentary, I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead.
