Well Folks, Lots of great things happening here at Zone HQ just for you lot, so keep coming back! Well its Summer 2024, and we have a whopper packed issue with the regulars, and lots of interviews! Just to let you guys know, we are back to bio-monthly now! We also welcome new writers Kali, from Spain, and Boy from Netherlands.

In our feature interviews in this issue we talk to cover artist and UK Techno Legend D.A.V.E. THE DRUMMER. If you are into Techno Music, you may have already come across one of  D.A.V.E. The Drummer’s records. Hailing from London’s illegal warehouse party scene that exploded in the 90’s, DJ & producer D.A.V.E. The Drummer started the label Hydraulix in 1998 as an output for his own production ideas. Hydraulix made some big waves in the Hard Techno scene throughout the 2000’s and is still going strong with many of the new releases hitting the top spots in respectable online stores charts. Tracks from Hydraulix have found their way into the playlists of some of the worlds top DJs, as well as keeping a huge following of underground Techno DJs across the globe.

” Fake DJs: It makes me very sad to watch the scene go down this pathway. Facebook used to be the platform of choice and Instagram was mostly for just pictures and fashion and so on, but then this shift happened and we have what we have now “

From Cuba we speak to rising star DJ KHENYA. Cuban-born Ibiza-based DJ Khenya enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame in the last few of years with a residency at Blue Marlin in Ibiza and sharing the stage with some of House music’s royalty including Black Coffee and Pete Tong.
Whilst she has always been connected to music through dance, her rise really started once she moved into house music. After studying percussion music and travelling throughout Italy with her band, where she played the bongo and sang, Khenya moved to Ibiza. Since then her talent has been gracing the decks in the Ibiza electronic music scene playing along side household names such as Dixon, Pete Tong, Blond:ish, Angelos and Bora Uzer.

From Sweden / USA we  speak to MADISON PALMER. Swedish American DJ & Producer Madison Palmer tickles your wonder whiskers with her captivating electronic music and signature PURRgressive sound– a fusion of Progressive Trance, Melodic House and Techno. In less then 3 years, Madison has released produced over 17  original tracks & growth her fan subscriber bass to over 50,000 across major social media sites. Madison’s original music is featured on leading music labels like Enormous, Perfecto, Krafted, Of Us and Elevation London frequently charting in the Top 50 on Beatport and Apple Music. Madison’s Live DJ sets take participants on a playful & mythopoetic journey.

From the UK we speak to recently pronounced sucessful race car driver – and 30 years as a DJ/Producer PAUL SAWYER. We caught up with Krafted’s Paul Sawyer who recently celebrated 30 years within the industry and most recently has dived into the World of Motorsport. He’s remixed the likes of Paul Oakenfold, Solarstone, Kristina Sky, Wally Lopez and more; as well as releasing on a multitude of labels over the years and hosting a show on the infamous BBC Radio 1 for 2.5 years. Paul has rocked dance floors from San Francisco to Ibiza, but there’s a personal milestone he’s been craving to cross off his to-do list for ages. I passion for the high-speed battles on the track. Swapping the decks for the driver’s seat, Paul is currently making waves in the Mini Challenge Clubsport series, a racing circuit designed for club-level MINI drivers looking for intense, competitive action.

From Venezuela we speak to the talented ANIURKA. Aniurka is a deep versatile soul artist from Venezuela. She started in music playing a guitar in a rock band, and from there her influences, She loves the tracks with very powerful basses, guitars and drums, those were her influences. Attracted by music and melodies from a very young age, she started to forge her own path to freely express herself and share her passion. Spreading energy through her music and connecting with the crowd in a versatile way is what makes her feel alive. Proud of not being labeled, she finds pleasure in just going with the flow and feeling a true connection with her soul and heart.She stands out for her authentic style which will inevitably put her at the top of the game.

Also from the UK Based in Los Angeles, USA, NICK NEWMAN. The British-born artist specializes in producing electronic music that can best be classified as deep melodic Organic House. Deriving influences from Electronica trough to Techno and Trance . His intuitive melodies appeal to a broad global audience, as listeners experience an instant connection to his music. In 2013, Newman released his first tracks under the name Seamless Beat. In contrast to Newman’s current sound, Seamless Beat’s tracks ranged from darker Techno and Progressive Breaks to Ambient soundscapes. Seamless Beat’s first album, Colours, was released on the legendary label JOOF Recordings. It was listed on Beatport’s Progressive House Top 10 Release Chart for several weeks and received favourable reviews from leading music magazines.

We speak Another artist from the UK in this issue RORY COCHRANE. Currently residing in the North East, UK, Rory has been DJing for over 25 years. His early influences were the U.S. west coast House scene, in particular the early Naked Music vibe, Dubtribe Sound System, Miguel Migs, Rasoul, Andy Caldwell, JT Donaldson & Lance Desardi. More of Rory’s influences include the likes of Calum Walker, Brendan Costigane, Jimpster, Charles Webster, Vincenzo, DJ Ino, Seph, Steven Garcia, Schmoov, Dj Jauche and Crazy P….you can see it’s an eclectic bag.

“My passion and love for Deeper house music was inspired and influenced a lot from early Deep House West Coast sound from a collection of artists and labels I was discovering!
