Well Folks, Lots of great things happening here at Zone HQ just for you lot, so keep coming back! Our team have been working hard as usual and we have a whopper packed issue with the regulars, and lots of interviews!
In our feature interviews in this issue we talk to cover artist and House music pusher from Portugal, BUBBA BROTHERS. For over a decade, Eliseu Correia has helped redefine the house music scene—not just in Portugal but internationally. With a signature blend of groove-driven beats, emotionally charged productions, and high-energy performances, he’s built a devoted following under the Bubba Brothers name. Now stepping forward as a solo artist, Eliseu continues to lead his label, Mossdeb Sounds, and expand his artistic vision with more freedom and clarity. We caught up with Eliseu to talk about his latest release “Nirvana”, the evolution of his sound, and what lies ahead in this exciting new chapter.
” Mossdeb Sounds has given me the independence and speed I needed to release music when and how I want, without constraints. Right now, it’s ranked in the Top 80 of Beatport’s Hype House Labels, which shows that I’m on the right path “
From France we speak to JP LANTIERI. A cosy Parisian apartment, an old piano slightly out of tune, a mother whose nimble fingers fly on the keys to play a sonata by Chopin or Liszt, this is the first memory of JP Lantieri’s childhood and intense music. Having started his music career in South-East Asia, by producing, DJing and co-running several successful recurring events, he moved to London in 2014, move which saw his creativity and productivity increase tenfold. “I have to say that London is a very energetic – yet competitive – city, where I’ve met a lot of genuine and incredible talents” says JP Lantieri. From this emulation, many tracks and the Flemcy Music label are born.
” My current style blends progressive house and melodic techno. I also appreciate classic deep house (not the pop-oriented variety), and I love the energy of peak-time techno “
Up next we have long standing artist, from Spain, Antonio Muñoz AKA EMESH. From the picturesque region of La Alcarria, Spain, emerges emesh, led by visionary artist Antonio Muñoz. Seamlessly blending electronic, ambient, slow trance, IDM, and dub, Antonio crafts captivating sonic landscapes that both move and soothe the soul. His musical journey has been a vibrant tapestry since 2013 with Sendero Records, painting an audio canvas that delights and inspires. Antonio’s musical roots trace back to the energetic 80s when he honed his skills as a resident DJ at Deadly club in Brihuega. His talent quickly propelled him to Madrid’s prestigious venues, including Círculo de Bellas Artes and Mondo, where he performed under the alias Dujay. As the founder of the underground Darkbeat parties, he was a pioneer of deep trance and progressive house in Madrid during the early 2000s.
” My journey with music has traversed various phases. Since 2007, I’ve immersed myself in experimentation, study, and a commitment to consciousness awakening, embarking on shamanic journeys and teaching meditation through sound “
From Italy, we speak to the talented MOWGLI. With over two decades immersed in electronic music, Mowgli continues to evolve his sound with clarity and intention. From his early groove-rooted productions to his latest studio explorations with live musicians, the Italian-born artist reaffirms his position as a creative force driven by curiosity, independence, and constant reinvention. In this interview, he speaks to Zone Magazine about the philosophy behind his new label Disco Volante, his thoughts on AI, and why collaboration is now at the core of his process.
From Germany we speak to, one of the hardest working female artists on the scene today JULIANE WOLF. Whether it’s Fusion Festival, Berlin’s Ritter Butzke, Sisyphos, Kater Blau or Amsterdam Dance Event, her performances have taken DJ, music producer and label owner Juliane Wolf to many places. She has shared stages with the likes of Guy J, Marc Romboy, Andreas Henneberg, Joris Delacroix, Darin Epsilon. Besides live gigs, Juliane has also discovered the world of producing. This discovery has led to many releases and remixes on labels such as 3000Grad, The Soundgarden, Dear Deer Music, EIN2, Poesie Musik and many others. Juliane’s tracks have been supported by artists such as Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Sasha, Eelke Kleijn, Karotte or Petar Dundov. In 2024 Juliane became a music production teacher for upcoming artists at Aviary Music School. Out of a desire to be more independent as an artist, Juliane founded her own label Wizarding Wolf in 2019.
” We have a few new releases planned and there will also be some remixes of previous releases which I’m really excited about and can’t wait to share “
From the UK we speak to rising artist STOBY. Ben Stobbart is a producer from North Wales, who has slowly been developing his sound and cementing his direction within electronic music. From being picked up initially by Solarstone for his Pure Trance and Pure Progressive imprints, Stoby is now a regular on UK label Krafted’s roster. His latest release ‘Feed Your Soul’ follows on from the brilliant ‘I Want You’ which was a highlight track from last year’s Krafted Chill album. Originating from North Wales, UK, Stoby has been steadily building up a catalogue of releases and remixes on a variety of well respected record labels having found his first release on Solarstone’s “Pure” imprint.
“By the mid to late 90’s I was regularly going to Cream in Liverpool, and a lot of smaller clubs in the midlands along with larger events like Renaissance and Gatecrasher. Progressive House and Trance were becoming a passion for me and I discovered more artists like Oakenfold, BT and Nick Warren who made a massive impact on my taste and current productions”
Again, from the UK, we speak with rising NOVABLOOD. They are songwriter and music producer, Mark Zowie, Paolo Di Liberto and Paul Newton. Zowie is known for his House Music productions as one half of Lil’ Devious (BMG, Ministry Of Sound) and Percy Filth (Fatboy Slim’s Southern Fried label) to frontman and songwriter for electronic band Burn The Negative (Gung-Ho!). After signing a singles and album deal with London label Old World-New World last summer, NOVABLOOD released their album ‘Destroy The Magic’ in October 2024 receiving strong support from Apple Music, the BBC and RTE in Ireland. The band toured extensively late last year including sets at the Legendary Golden Lion at Todmorden, just days after their DJ set at the iconic PIKES in Ibiza.
” Vinyl was super important to us, but not the make or break. Vinyl collectors and listeners tend to listen to the body of work as it was intended. Start to finish. They tend to understand the writers journey and intentions “
Again from Spain, we speak with David Morales AKA DAVID MAKES. David Makes, is a DJ and music producer from Málaga, Spain. From the young age of 14, David has been immersed in the world of electronic music, starting his career by DJing with vinyl at various parties and producing electronic music. Additionally, he is the creator and host of the DJ interview podcast, TheMixBox.
” I´m pretty busy with our promoter, Dope. We’d like to do at least six or seven events a year, and also take Dope outside to make a Dope open air. And also with the preparation of a festival in summer “
And once again, from Spain, ZELESTE. Zeleste Rokatechno is a DJ and artist with a career that dates back to 2009, standing out in the techno and hardtechno scene. His style fuses influences from Berlin, Detroit and his Andalusian roots, evolving through his experience in clubs in Madrid and Barcelona. ” Well, I think it’s because we all want to stand out, and when you don’t keep your ego in check, it creeps in, unfortunately. It’s always easier to criticize or hurt others than to support and lift people up “
