In our feature interviews in this issue we talk to cover artist Aitor Ronda From Spain. Aitor Ronda’s concrete roots can be traced back to 90’s techno. His personal commitment to the mutant and clubbing techno has been in force since 1996, when he began to play his first vinyl records. It was a few years later, in 2001, after releasing his first vinyl record along with Mark Williams, Ben Sims or Paul Mac, when Aitor decided to create his own Drakos (where he signed “Trilogy” alongside DJ Rush) and Upfront imprints too.

Also from the UK we catch up with Sherpa who has burst onto the scene by landing releases on Perfecto Black, Pure Progressive and most recently Krafted. This meteoric rise is not without graft and a lesson in chancing your luck! Sherpa’s introduction into producing and releasing the music that he loves, began in a slightly unusual way, but now sees him with high level plaudits and an ever-growing army of fans. His latest release is the fantastic ‘Let Me Think About This’, a collaboration with Jan Johnston no less.

Next up is Chicago based Nick Stoynoff who is undoubtedly one of the of the hottest properties within the global Progressive House scene. With a string of releases on prestigious labels such as Bedrock, Balance, Selador, Sudbeat, Alola, and his own imprint NOFF! Nick’s work has been championed by artists like Hernán Cattáneo, Nick Warren, Guy J, Laurent Garnier, Omid 16b, Anthony Pappa, Dave Seaman, Sasha, and John Digweed, Solarstone, and many others. His meticulous approach to production, honed over years of experience, results in emotionally resonant compositions that linger in the minds of listeners long after the music fades. With close to 2 decades of production and numerous Beatport Top 10’s, Nick is showing no signs of slowing down.

We speak to another Spanish artist this issue. Born in Galicia on March 13, 1992, Alex Vigo began his journey in electronic music in 2010. Since then, he has become known for high-energy, technically skilled, and impactful sets, with a focus on Hard-groove and Techno styles. A few years after taking his first steps in DJ’ing, Alex ventured into music production, opening doors to constant learning and professional growth. His work has been released on renowned labels such as Ole Black, The Other Face, Synthesis Records, DZB Records, and more. In 2022, he reached the Top 9 in Techno releases on Beatport and was featured in the platform’s “Tracks You Might Have Missed: Techno PD” playlist.

From the UK we speak to Nick Hook, a Brighton based DJ, producer and song writer with many releases on top labels, he has DJ’d extensively all over the UK and abroad, including headline gigs at major venues. Nick has produced more than 200 tracks and remixes which have been released on some of the biggest house music labels, including FFRR, Zulu Records, Motive Records, Freakin909, Chemiztri Recordings, In It Together Records, Whartone, Hed Kandi, Whore House, Vamos Music, Whoop!, Distinctive, Loaded, Traded Music, Go Deeva Light, PlayedIt Records, React, Om, Renaissance, Phonetic, Revoke, Limbo, Stress and DMC. He has also released many singles – as well as his acclaimed studio album Asylum Earth – on his own label Jeepers! Music.

From Spain we speak to PUMUKI. From the outskirts of southern Madrid, Pumuki has carved a unique path where a love for vinyl, self-organized raves, and hands-on production blend into a raw, magnetic, and deeply personal sound. With releases on labels like Envy Music, Espacio Cielo, Logical, and most recently Cabaret Clandestino, this multifaceted artist bridges his work as a tattooist and his musical persona with ease. We caught up with him to talk about synth obsessions, his ties to the Latin American scene, and what he has in store for the rest of 2025.
