Here, I will be sharing reviews of music at the forefront of the scene, reviewing hundreds of promos each week to highlight standout releases from around the world, that you need to know about. Enjoy!
7/10 – Pumuki – To Lose My Life [Pumuki Remix]
Spanish producer Pumuki aims straight at peak-time catharsis, flipping White Lies’ anthem into a brooding electroclash driver. Reworked vocal phrasing, a new minor-key topline and a saw-toothed bassline tilt the track toward late-night melancholy without losing punch. You get indie nostalgia reframed for smoke-machine hours—hook intact, edges serrated. It’s built for club systems, but the emotional residue lingers after the drop. A timely end-of-summer weapon with just the right amount of noir.
8/10 – Bubba Brothers – I Wanna Do It With U / Hot [Mossdeb Sounds]
Two straight-talking house cuts from Bubba Brothers on Mossdeb Sounds, both hovering around the six-minute mark and fine-tuned for rolling floors. “I Wanna Do It With U” leans on a head-nod groove and a vocal earworm; “Hot” ups the sweat with tighter percussion and a strutty low end. Out September 19, 2025 (digital), with the polish you’d expect from a Pobla master—club-ready out of the box. No gimmicks, just functional momentum and crowd logic. DJs get two tempos of the same confident, groove-led language.
7/10 – Aversaro – Not With Me [EasterEggPlant]
Aversaro—a rotating collective—lands a deep-house gem fronted by a smoky, jazz-tinged vocal that reads like a post-toxic breakup communiqué. Clocking in at 3:23, it’s compact but radio-to-club ready, with a hook that frames the “girlpower” narrative without tipping into cliché. The production keeps the kick plush and the chords warm, letting the story do the heavy lifting. File alongside your vocal deep cuts that still move a floor. Elegant, assertive, replayable.
8/10 – Mr OFFBeat – Rebirth EP [Appetizers Music]
One composition, four lives: Mr OFFBeat’s concept EP re-imagines a single idea across contrasting moods—introvert, soulful, late-night and sunrise. Out August 15, 2025 on Appetizers Music (digital), it threads analog warmth and jazz-flecked voicings through steady deep-house pulses. Each version earns its space in the wallet: different textures/tempi, same emotional backbone. Perfect utility for warmups and breathers without losing narrative flow. A concise study in re-framing—DJ-friendly and thoughtful in equal measure.
