New Codes 2017

The first New Codes in 2017 invites festival family members, as well as some fresh faces to the three rooms of Tresor, Globus, and OHM on the night of Friday 17. March.

Down in the vault, Peder Mannerfelt presents his exceptional live show featuring his signature raw, unsoftened and brutely analog sound puncturing space in an oddly futuristic rhythmic experiment, ever gesturing at a brand new way of thinking about electronic music.
New Codes favorite and Livity Sound regular Simo Cell will make his debut in the underground chamber, while London’s Errorbeauty makes this night complete with her own very peculiar deviance in techno, jungle and electro.

Upstairs, Sheffield label Central Processing Unit – commonly referred to as CPU Records, takes over the motherboard. Since 2012, label head CPSmith curates through CPU a killer selection of electro cuts, making their way into the most selective DJs of the abrasive genre. Cult UK intelligent techno act B12 recently released its first EP on CPU and will present a live performance bringing together a fine arrangement of their own legacy cuts and current productions. Malta’s Microlith and Dublin’s duo Mikron have become pillars of the label through their frequent singles and albums.

The OHM room opens its doors earlier than usual, to welcome a rare Berlin performance from Awesome Tapes from Africa. The inimitable shapeshifting Glaswegians Optimo will then engage in an intimate all-night session, calling the white-tiled room home for the night.

Full timetable to be released on the Berlin Atonal website.
