In our feature interviews in this issue we talk to cover feature ICONYC TV. In this modern age, standing out from the crowd is vitally important. ICONYC has, from its inception, been a label of high repute so it will come as no surprise they are about to embark on the next phase of their development with a visual medium to further enhance the label. ICONYC TV will be broadcast in partnership with Red Bull, Denon DJ, Akai, and others, and will no doubt become the blueprint for music TV moving forward. Featuring DJ sets from a cross section of talented artists including interviews and footage of their incredible locations, ICONYC TV is the next step dance music’s development. We sat down with ICONYC label head, John Johnson and a group of the DJs featured in season one, Darren Emerson, Umek and Paul Sawyer to find out more.

“Filming in a water tank located on castle grounds was something completely new to me. In my career, I’ve played in some crazy venues, but this really was something unique ” – UMEK

We also talk to the due from NYC John Creamer & Noam Rubinstien AKA UP ALL NIGHT. UpAllNight was formed New Years 2018. The project has been generating excitement and interest ever since. Studing Music was what occupied most of his time. Years later was recognized by prestigious Argentine musicians as one of the best academic organists in the country.

” I discovered electronic music in the 90s. I come from classical music studios and I saw this as something little ‘produced’, which, of course, was wrong “

From AUS we talk to DOUBLE TOUCH. Classical Pianist & Composer Van Anh Nguyen and DJ, Drummer & Producer Mark Olsen, AKA Double Touch, blend their two worlds together to form a unique dreamy mix of live acoustic and electronic sounds. We speak to Music Is The Answers’ main man ROBERT CLARK from Scotland. With gigs under his belt in Aberdeen and Stirling, he decided to set up his own night ‘Music is the Answer’ in 2016. Playing with the likes of Danny Howells, BOg, John Graham aka Quivver, James Zabiela, the upcoming Nick Warren/Steve Parry alldayer, and 1 other as yet unanounced gig, it appears Robert is steering MitA in the right direction.

” Next up on November 2nd, we host the final leg of Anthony Pappa’s European tour, to say we’re honoured is an understatement. Then February 29th we celebrate our 3rd birthday with 2 of Seladors finest, thats all I’m saying on that one. Then our summer gigs, one of which we’re already working on. It’s set to blow everything we’ve done out of the water “

Music has always featured in her life, from the classical music she learned to play at a young age, to the music she listened to at every possible opportunity: The Beatles, Searchers, Kinks and many other 60s bands. It was later that her musical tastes led to listening to pirate radio stations when she fell in love with jungle. The rave scene, which is where for the first time in her life she felt as though she belonged.
