10/10 – Top Release –

Alex Medina & Alani – No More Shadows [Mumbai Records]

There’s something deeply magnetic about artists who stop trying to fit inside scenes and simply build their own universe. On No More Shadows, Alex Medina and Alani do exactly that — crafting a release that feels equally rooted in underground club culture and emotionally charged songwriting, while refusing to surrender to the rigidity of genre labels.

Built from years of collaboration, friendship, and creative trust, the mini-album moves with the confidence of artists who no longer need validation from formulas or trends. Instead, No More Shadows thrives in the in-between spaces: indie textures melt into electronic rhythms, flashes of house and techno collide with pop sensibilities, while subtle rock energy keeps the project raw and human beneath its polished production.

Jeff Mental – Noches de Pikes [Melómana Records]

Jeff Mental returns to Melómana Records with “Noches de Pikes”, the label’s 56th release, out on May 8, 2026. The EP arrives loaded with energy, attitude and flow, capturing the spirit of music, friendship and late-night freedom in Sant Antoni.

The title track, “Noches de Pikes”, opens the release with solid funk basslines, a driving disco groove and a raw vocal that gives the track its cheeky, immediate edge. It feels loose, confident and built for a dancefloor that prefers personality over polish.

On “Maldita Distracción”, Jeff Mental shifts toward a more house-driven sound, bringing in hypnotic acid lines and a refined blend of disco, krautrock and psychedelic touches while keeping the groove firmly alive. The vocal turns more melodic and pop-oriented here, adding contrast without softening the EP’s attitude.

UK producer Tronik Youth closes the package with a darker remix of “Noches de Pikes”, slowing things down and sharpening the 303s into a tougher, late-night weapon. With Melómana Records behind it and worldwide distribution by EPM Music, “Noches de Pikes” lands with no apologies and plenty of character.

8.5 – Alessandro Basile, Wildness Rose, Charmeine and CANVI – Holding On [AQSTICA]

“Holding On” marks the first collaboration between Alessandro Basile, Wildness Rose, Charmeine and CANVI, and it arrives with a clear sense of creative chemistry. What began as a studio connection quickly developed into a genuine artistic bond, and that energy is reflected throughout the track.

Driven by a deep, immersive bassline, “Holding On” blends raw dancefloor power with bright melodic elements and experimental textures. The production feels polished but alive, balancing peak-time impact with a hook-driven structure that keeps it accessible beyond the club.

It is energetic, emotional and instantly memorable, built to hit hard on the dancefloor while still carrying enough warmth for radio and repeat listening. With Alessandro Basile, Wildness Rose, Charmeine and CANVI all bringing something distinct to the table, “Holding On” stands as a fresh and confident release designed to move both crowds and listeners.

8.5/10 – Intervalo – Fade Away  [Golden Soul Records]

Intervalo stands as a solid reference within the techno scene, known for his refined mixing technique and his ability to build intense, immersive sound environments. With a career developed over years behind the decks, he has performed at numerous respected clubs and festivals, shaping a clear identity rooted in precision, depth and atmosphere.

As a producer, he has released music under different pseudonyms and worked with acclaimed international labels, with one of the highlights being his remix for the legendary Der Dritte Raum. His current sound moves toward a more mature, mental and deep direction, while keeping the techno essence that defines his artistic language.

Rather than chasing impact through excess, Intervalo works through tension, detail and control. His music feels designed for listeners who understand techno as a physical experience, but also as a space for focus, immersion and inner movement.

8/10 – Bubba Brothers – Mysterio [Mossdeb Sounds]

The Bubba Brothers team up with Portuguese rock icon Rui Pregal da Cunha (Heróis do Mar) for Groove, a summer anthem that merges classic rock vocals with electronic flair. A warm bass foundation meets uplifting synth melodies and a driving beat tailor-made for daytime and sunset sets. The track shines with retro gloss and crossover appeal—vocals full of nostalgia, backed by modern production finesse.

The instrumental version fleshes out the rhythmic layers with clean percussion that lifts the energy toward harmonic crescendos. In contrast, the extended mix delivers a more gradual build, adding tension before letting the vocals take hold.

Crafted for crossover playlists and DJs in search of emotional resonance in daytime sets, Groove is breezy, feel-good, and undeniably catchy.
